Connect an AI app to Search Arsenal
A connection lets an AI app read one Search Arsenal workspace and answer your questions from your own numbers. It only reads. This page says what it reads, how to set it up, where its limits are and how to end it. For what the product measures, see Search Arsenal.
What a connection reads
Before you allow a connection, Search Arsenal shows a consent page. It names the app that is asking, lets you pick one workspace, and says this:
Read only. The app can read what this workspace holds: its search, ranking, keyword, competitor, backlink, site audit, index coverage, conversion, funnel and ad spend figures, its Setup checklist, its Next steps with the fixes proposed for them, and its Help and feedback threads. It cannot change anything. Email addresses, phone numbers and individual visitor identifiers are removed from everything it reads.
If the workspace holds Google Search Console or Google Analytics figures, the consent page says so. It names the Google login they were read through and the app that will receive them, and it asks you to tick a box before you can allow the connection. The box starts empty.
The conversion figures include single conversions: the time, type, value, landing page, referring site, channel and campaign of each one, with nothing that says who the person was.
Before you start
- You need a Search Arsenal account. Accounts are by invitation for now. To ask for one, write to us through the support page.
- You need to be the account owner. Nobody else on the account can allow a connection.
- Each connection reads one workspace. You pick it on the consent page.
The server URL
This is the address you paste into the AI app:
https://app.battlebridge.com/mcp
It is an address for an AI app, not for a browser. Opened in a browser, it shows a short note and nothing else.
Connect by signing in
The Claude app and ChatGPT connect by signing in, not with a key. You paste the server URL into the app, sign in to Search Arsenal as the account owner, pick one workspace and allow it.
The Claude app
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Press "+ Add" and choose "Add custom connector". If your Claude account belongs to an organization, an owner does this from Organization settings, then Connectors, Add, Custom, Web.
- Give it a name, paste the server URL above and press Continue.
- Claude shows the sign-in settings it found for this server. Under Authentication choose "Sign in now", leave the rest as Claude set it, and press Add.
- Sign in to Search Arsenal as the account owner, pick the workspace to connect and press Allow.
- In a chat, switch it on under "+", then Connectors.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT on the web, go to chatgpt.com/plugins. Press the plus button and choose "Add custom MCP server".
- Enter a name and paste the server URL above as the Server URL.
- For authentication, choose OAuth.
- Read the risk warning and select "I understand and want to continue". Then select "Create as a plugin".
- Install it from your personal plugins. When ChatGPT sends you to Search Arsenal, sign in as the account owner, pick the workspace to connect and press Allow.
- Start a new chat and type @ to pick it.
Only the account owner can allow a connection, and each connection reads one workspace: to connect another workspace, add the app again and pick it. Connections are listed under Connected apps on the API keys page, where the owner can end one.
Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Codex connect with a key and not by signing in. Those steps are inside Search Arsenal, on the API keys page, under Connect.
Then ask
- What can you see for this workspace, and how fresh is each source?
- How did organic search do in the last 28 days against the 28 before, and which pages lost clicks?
- What is our cost per lead by channel in the last 28 days, and where do people drop out of the funnel?
How to end a connection
The account owner can end a connection at any time:
- Sign in to Search Arsenal at https://app.battlebridge.com and switch to the workspace the connection reads.
- Open Account at the top right, choose Workspaces, then API keys.
- Under Connected apps, find the app and press End connection.
From that moment Search Arsenal answers no new request from the app. A request it was already answering may still finish. Ending a connection does not take back answers the AI app has already received. To remove those, use the AI app's own controls.
Removing the connector inside the AI app stops that app from asking. To be sure the connection is ended on our side as well, check Connected apps and press End connection there.
A connection also ends by itself:
- After 60 days without use.
- 180 days after it was allowed.
- Within an hour of a password reset by the owner who allowed it, or of that person no longer being the account owner.
- When the AI app itself tells Search Arsenal to disconnect.
A connection stops reading at once when its workspace is archived.
If you cannot sign in and need a connection ended, write to us through the support page.
Limits
- It only reads. The connector has no tool that writes.
- One connection reads one workspace.
- Only the account owner can allow a connection.
- A workspace holds at most 20 connections. End one before you add a twenty-first.
- A connection may send 120 messages a minute. Its tool calls also count toward 60 requests a minute, so a fast run of questions can be told to wait a minute.
- A list returns 25 rows unless more are asked for, and 100 at most. The next steps return 10. A long answer is shortened to stay under 60,000 characters, and the answer says so.
- Search Console finalises a day about three days later, so search windows end three days back. Lead and spend windows end today.
- Figures from third parties are estimates and are marked as estimates. A figure that was not measured is reported as not measured, never as zero.
- It answers from what the workspace holds. A workspace without Conversion Arsenal returns no lead, funnel or spend figures, and the answer says so.
- A connection ends 60 days after its last use, or 180 days after it was allowed, whichever comes first. The owner can allow it again.
What is never returned
Before an answer leaves Search Arsenal through a connection or a key, these are removed or refused:
- Email addresses and phone numbers. A field that holds one is emptied, and any text that reads as one is emptied too. In Help and feedback threads they read "[email removed]" and "[phone removed]".
- The identifiers of individual visitors. A connected app can count people. It cannot follow one person.
- One person's journey, and the page for a single conversion. Both are refused.
- Screenshots attached to Help and feedback threads.
- The name of the person who owns a next step. It reads "a team member".
- Tracking keys, secrets and snippets, and the account and settings pages.
- Anything from a workspace other than the one the owner picked.
What the check does not catch
The check looks for email addresses and phone numbers by their shape. It does not recognize a person's name. If a search query, a page title or a campaign name holds a name, that text is passed as it is stored. A run of digits inside a web address or an id is passed too, so that page addresses and ids stay readable.
Your data and our terms
What we store and log about a connection, how long we keep it, and how to ask for deletion are in our Privacy Policy. The rules for API keys and connected apps are in our Terms of Service.
An answer can hold your Google Search Console and Google Analytics figures. The company that runs your AI app handles what that app receives under its own terms and your settings with it. Depending on those, it may keep the figures, use them to improve its services or train its models, and use your conversation to choose the ads you see. Check your settings in the AI app before you connect. Software that reads with a key is in the same position.
Help
If a connection does not work, write to us through the support page. Tell us the login email of the account, the workspace, the name of the AI app and what you asked. Do not send a password or an API key.
